Andrea Castaneda

Andrea was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and began her artistic career at a very young age. She made her very first mural at the age of thirteen.

Andrea sold her first painting at the age of fifteen, then she followed her passion for comics and created professional comic books with her sister. Andrea then continued her art career by studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she studied illustration, and continued studying graphic design in Mexico City. Living in Mexico she worked as an illustrator for several foreign companies, illustrating children's books.

After Mexico, Andrea traveled back to Honduras to Roatan Island, a short boat ride away from the Honduran coast. Living on this island is something that she will always remember as her beginnings as a muralist. After word of her talent spread, many places began hiring her as a muralist. Restaurants, bars, dive shops, and other businesses soon had beautiful murals brightening their walls. As her amount of work grew the people from the island came to refer to her as "Andrea the Artist".

Since then, she has continued her art career as a muralist in Mexico and currently resides in the US.  She has presented her work in galleries in Washington DC, Miami, New York, Italy, Mexico, Honduras, Orlando and other locations in Florida. She has won several awards for best artist, and has been interviewed on TV as well as newspapers and magazines worldwide.
