Judith Mammay
Judith Mammay has played many roles during her life, including mother, daughter, wife, student, teacher, photographer, author, and grandmother, among others, but painting was never one of them! Therefore, she was very surprised when, at the age of 80, she took her granddaughter to an art lesson and was handed a brush and a canvas and told she couldn’t watch. That was the beginning of her life as an artist and she is loving it. Judy believes that Earth is a school and we are here to learn various lessons, and she intends to never stop learning!
Judy currently works mostly with acrylics and likes to take her own photos to use as reference pictures. She enjoys painting sunsets and nature paintings where she can use bright colors. Judy has also started learning more about abstract painting, where she enjoys the freedom of stroke and blending of colors, and is experimenting with that.
Judy enjoys sharing her experiences in art with others. She believes it is never too late to try something new or to learn a new skill. She uses her age and her interest in the arts and positive aging to encourage others of all ages to experiment in painting or some other form of art both for enjoyment and to move forward through life healthily, Judy has also adopted the theme ART with HEART as her motto and donates a high percentage of all profits to local charities.
